MBK is well known among tourists as a heaven for all things affordable and probably is Bangkok's most legendary shopping mall, popular among both tourists and Thai shoppers every day. There are eight floors packed with 2,000 shops that sell everything from clothing, fashion accessories, handbags, leather products, gold ornaments, luggage, furniture, electrical appliances, stationeries, handmade souvenirs and variety of local titbits. It's not as up-market or stylish as neighbouring Siam Discovery, Siam Centre and the glitzy Siam Paragon, but it offers a mind-boggling range of goods for bargain and is considerably less expensive.

3) CentralWorld
CentralWorld is a mega-shopping complex that offers one of the most exciting shopping experiences in Bangkok. It has everything from brand name clothing boutiques, funky fashion, high-tech gadgets, bookshops and designer furniture to imported groceries, banks, beauty salons, gourmet eateries, 15-screen SF World Cinema, open ice-skating rink and more than 100 restaurants and cafés. With so much competition among the sellers, sellers are usually willing to offer decent discounts and freebies to secure the sale. So, always compare the prices and freebies before you close the deal as another shop down the road may offer even more attractive packages. Pantip Plaza has a widespread practice of selling counterfeit software and items. As such, buyers must beware and are advisable to bring along an expert friend or to educate yourself on the products beforehand.
